On Wednesday, October 16, at 5:00 pm, Detroit Lakes Public Schools will conduct a test using the Skylert Messaging Service. The district uses these Skylerts to announce school closures due to weather or convey any other message that must be communicated in an emergency. The test will include an automated phone, email, and text message. Please get in touch with your school’s office to ensure further communication if you do not receive any of these.

It's National School Lunch Week, October 14-18, 2024! To celebrate the importance of healthy school lunches in a child's life and its impact inside and outside the classroom, our buildings will offer some new items for lunch!

At the elementary and middle school buildings, new menu items include: Chicken & Waffles -WG (Waffles, Chicken Chunks, Maple Syrup), Chicken Egg Roll, and Dill Pickle Flavored Breaded Turkey Patty will be added.

At the high school, we will serve meals inspired by local eateries. These meals include: Cajun Chicken (Brygge), El Loro Lindo (El Loro), Flyin’ Hawaiian (Hub 41), Boneless Wings w/Gold Rush Wing Sauce (Long Bridge), Thai Chicken Pizza (Papa Murphy’s), Irishman - Reuben meets California Burger (Hub 41)
